Surepost and UPS Basic to the Post Office is eliminating full-time jobs. We have drivers laid off for the first time I can remember in the summer max vacation period. Every day, routes are cut and combined. We lose about three routes a day out of 30 some routes in our center. We are delivering over 1,000 packages to the post office a week.

Does Lower Volume Give UPS the Right to Cut 22.3 Jobs?
UPS has released its latest financial numbers and, as expected, volume and revenue are down. Some management officials claim this gives the company the right to lay off full-time combo employees.

How To Document Full-Time Job Elimination

Under the contract UPS had to give the International a list of the 20,000 Article 22.3 jobs the company claims it will maintain.
Our local union got a copy of that list from the IBT Package Division. My Steward Alternate and I found 11 jobs on the list that exist only on paper. That list includes workers that have moved to package car or feeder jobs.
That list even includes workers that have quit or been fired.
